Our St. Louis Trip!
May 26, 2008
Well we had a ton of fun this past week in St. Louis. It was fun to go back with Chris and see the places he had lived and meet some of the people from his mission. And yes of course there are a lot of pictures I put on this post. Couldn't decide which to put so I put most of them. Sorry about the lighting on some. I had to change it on Photo shop so you could actually see them.

This is our hotel. When we first pulled up I thought for sure we had the wrong place. It looked like a castle.

Our rental car. It was VERY fast. Chris enjoyed driving it a lot.

The lobby of our hotel. They were actually setting up for a wedding reception when I took the picture.

This arch was pretty cool. It circled the whole entry way. Chris took a picture of me when he was standing on the other side. If you whispered to the wall the person at the other side could hear you just like you were standing next to them. It was kinda creepy.

This was pretty cool. I told Chris he needed to build some. They had this train and train cars, tractor and wagon, trucks, and a car. They were out front of the restaurant. The boys would just love them. Don't know where we would put them, maybe the farm. Ha Ha. I'm just kidding Kolleen.

These pictures are from Lambert's, Home of the throwed rolls. It was actually two hours away from where we stayed, but Chris had talked about going there on his mission and I thought it sounded like fun, so we went. It was pretty fun. Crazy that they just throw you a roll though. They were throwing them clear across the room. If you have ever been to Cracker Barrel, it is a lot like that only they bring around more food, and of course they throw your rolls. They were really good though. This was our Anniversary dinner.
This was inside the Batman ride. It was the best one. Of course I didn't get any pictures of the actual ride though. It was a rollercoaster that your feet hung off on. It was fun.
This is the Superman. It took you to the top then dropped you. It was much higher than the others I had done like this before. Halfway up I really didn't want to be there anymore. It was freaky. Then they just leave you at the top for a minute and then drop you. Uhg. We only did that one once.
We went to Six Flags on Friday afternoon. We were thinking we would stay there all afternoon, but after three hours of rides and extreme heat and humidity, I was done. I couldn't believe how much it wore me out. The rides were crazy though. There were pretty much no rides the whole time we were there so we could do whatever we wanted.
Crossing the mighty Mississippi River.
I took this crossing the bridge. Not a good picture, but it was the best one. We couldn't really just stop.
It was rainy on Saturday when we went to the Arch. And there were a lot of people there. I really missed my big camera to take the cool big pictures, but this one did okay. Next time I will take it for sure.
This was a wall sculpture that showed up to scale the height of other monuments compared to the Arch. Of course the Arch towered over them all.
The windows at the top you look through.
The red roofed building with the spire is our hotel. I had to zoom out as far as I could but you could see it.
Veiws from the top.

The room at the top was pretty small.
The back side of our hotel at Union Station. It was a pretty cool place. There is the mall inside then outside there are a ton of yummy eating places.

The St. Louis temple. It actually looked a lot like the one in Twin Falls Idaho. We went to Church in the Chesterfield ward later that day. It was where Chris had served and still new a lot of the people. We had dinner with an awesome family, the Mahaffees before we headed for the airport. It was a lot of fun to meet people that Chris had spent part of his life with.

It looks like you guys had so much fun! Was the mall you were at the "Mall of America"? I was thinking that it was in Missouri, but maybe I'm wrong...
Actually it is called Union Station. The Mall of America is in Minneapolis Minnesota. I am pretty sure.
Oh my gosh that looks like so much fun! AND how nice not to have to take the kids. One of these days we will have to go on a trip together just the 4 of us.
It looks like it was lots of fun! It was weird going from taking care of Triston & Zack to not... But it was fun having them here. Oh and I love your couches! :)
